    Cauldron and Joramy

Thinking about possible uses/explanations for the city of "Cauldron" of "Shackled City" fame, the obvious finally dawned upon me. What better site for a holy city dedicated to the goddess of volcanoes than a city build inside a caldera? Cauldron! This would also explain why anyone would consider the site worthy of being inhabited - religous zealots of a volcano goddess.

Of course, to make Cauldron Joramy's holy city will require rewriting parts of the "Shackled City," if anyone uses that, but it may be as simple as substituting Joramy for Wee Jas.

    A thought.

This is exactly how I ran it, but I added a large St. Cuthbert reference. IMC, Cauldron was indeed Joramy's holy volcano. When he walked Oerth, St. Cuthbert happened by this area, and found the people dwelling nearby were greatly troubled by the frequent volcanic eruptions. St. Cuthbert took it upon him self to help them, so he walked up to the top of the volcano and demanded to speak with Joramy. After an argument lasting some days and nights, Joramy actually felt somewhat calm. She agreed that as long as St. Cuthbert retained a presence on the holy mountain, she would not vent her anger by causing it to errupt (as she would have someone to argue with). St. Cuthbert has maintained a shrine in the crater ever since, and the volcano has not since errupted. This you have the holy city of Joramy with a sizable Cuthbert presence.

Good topic. I am for any ideas that use peripheral deities like Joramy. although I own all the Dungeon issues with the Shackled City Path, I have read little of them. It would seem logical as GVD pointed out to use Joramy and maybe Pyremius could sneak in there for the villains?

I was also thinking of introducing Joramy to Cauldron. But more of a smaller roll, probably replacing Pelor.

I am also saying that Cauldron is an old Suel Empire outpost that grew quite large when a very valuable diamond mine was founded sometime after the Invoked Devastation.

Mortellan, the idea of using Joramy with Pyremians as the evil side is a great one. I may just wind up using that. :)
