Sounds like a cool idea to me. I can't wait to see what design they go with.

If there's any justice, the statue will be of Gary sitting cross-legged atop a gigantic d6, smoking a pipe..... ;)

I think that it would be neat to see him riding a great stallion rearing up on with a sword thrust into the air ... not likely to happen I know, but it would be neat.
The d6 and pipe would be a fitting tribute, and fit his character, I think.
Actually, it is a fitting tribute that would do a statue at all. Gail is to be lauded for having it done.

This is the facebook page for Gail and for the Gary Gygax - Remembering the Great Dungeon Master face book pages.
And personally I think that the best picture of how would be him holding a giant d20 over his head with a great big smile on his face.

When I get back from being away... again... I will plan to visit the site, a pilgramage you could say, to see it. Maybe on a March 4th?
Happy gaming all!

I like the idea I read somewhere I've since forgotten: Gary sitting behind a DM's screen rolling a d20.

I like SUPrUNown's vision, reflective of the original AD&D PHB "idol" cover's interior cover page.... just in case there are any younger generation gamers out there not familuar...
I hope it gets approved and gets established in the Library park as noted, sounds like a great spot.
Game on!
