    Scorimongishaz

    Hi all,
In several episodes of the LG campaign situated in the Bright Desert, it is mentioned a pseudo dragon named Scorimongishaz, familiar of an apprentice of Archimage Tenser. Who might be this apprentice ?

    MAYBE SPOILER BELOW !!

I'm currently DMing the last episode of the saga and also wonders how you DM who have played this saga, have handled the great final with Tenser appearance along Karysytine in "Dominion Over the bright sands"

    Thanks

I haven't read the modules yet so i don't know if there is a specific character named but options could include Eligos the sage from Greyhawk or Allustan Neff from Diamond Lake both of whom appear in Age of Worms. A better option might be Skye the Lioness, Jallarzi's young apprentice from the Return of the Eight. Tenser sponsored Jallarzi's appointment to the Circle of Eight so it's entirely possible that she might have transferred to Tenser's tuition when she got older. She was 10 in 586 CY I think.

Either of these would be great if you can get around the following statement in The Hall of Harsh Reflections, Age of Worms Adventure Path, Dungeon Magazine #127.

"Like Allustan, Eligos was once apprenticed to the powerful archmage Manzorian. Unlike Allustan, Eligos still serves the archmage as one of Manzorian's chief agents in the Free City."

If it looks like Tenser, lives like Tenser, and has the same stats as Tenser, it's Tenser.

Haha, yeah, Manzorian=Tenser. The official conversion guide said as much.

    Tenser,

It might just be a blue duck, or pointed ear duck, or a roasted duck!

He has an identity crisis. That's for sure.

I wonder if Tenser is Howard the Duck! Laughing

    Later

I think you have figured out what the mighty Philidor is Argon. A blue duck! Maybe all high level wizards are in truth ducks.

Okay, I understand that Manzorian is a replacement name for Tenser. My question is, "Why?"

They freely used copywritten names like Greyhawk, Diamond Lake, Kyuss, Nerull, Hextor, and Vecna. Why then, was it necessary to change Tenser's name?

IIRC, Mona stated on the Paizo forums that WotC allowed all GH refs for AoW but three: City of Greyhawk (replaced w/ Free City), Tenser (Manzorian), & Bucknard (Balakarde). I think the reasoning was that if readers saw those 3 popular GH names, they might be reluctant to run AoW if they didn't have a GH campaign.
