A color piece! Very nice, Glad27. Smile Give that fighter bonus experience points for having the intelligence to slam the door shut on the tentacles to prevent his compatriots from being dragged through it. Smile

I am at GaryCon in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin right now. I saw the adventure that features the artwork you posted in this thread (the 1st level adventure with the albino apes) for sale by one of the exhibitors. It looked very nice. Wink

I missed this somehow, Glad! Thanks for posting.

For those who might not know, that color piece is going to be the cover for "A Curious Volume of Forgotten Lore", which will have a lot of the "new" stuff contained in my Adventures Dark and Deep project (http://www.adventuresdarkanddeep.com). It's intended to be a rules supplement, suitable for use with all your 1E, LL, S&W, OSRIC, etc. games with little or no adaptation needed. New classes like the mountebank, savant, mystic, etc., tons of new spells, an alternate combat system, and a bunch of other stuff as well.

At the risk of publishing a Shameless Plug (apologies if this is a no-no), there's a kickstarter campaign currently under way for the book. We've hit the initial goal (which will pay, in part, for Glad's awesome artwork), and just announced a bonus reward if we hit $3,500. The kickstarter can be found here:

She's got a little bit of braided chin hair...it's just hard to make out. I just didn't give her the full bore Grizzly Adams beard that Jeff Dee did back in the original A1 cover. Wink

Guessing those yeti-looking beasties are actually taers (from Monster Manual 2), b/c they give off a foul reek (you have one of your warriors falling prey to it, holding his nose). Yes?

That's exactly the sort of creature it is, Lanthorn! I tried to give a few clues without giving up the creature type outright by having it take place in the snow, the Taer having a crude spear (something indicated in the MM II) and what you alluded to...the fighter gagging on the Taer's smell.

    Good job!

They're behind him...out of view, Cebrion. Wink (I knew somebody would mention that. LOL) Maybe there's a wizard just out of sight who levitated the dwarf to his current spot to expedite his short legs having to waist time running up to the Taer?

Ah, gotta love fantasy and the leeway it provides. Happy

I've been playing a lot of Dungeon Crawl Classics on Roll20 recently and this art is that game. Or, that game is this art. Or, something.

Though I am at a loss to know what that last picture depicts, the guy in chains.

Looks "horrible" enough . . . if that's a "fate," that is. Laughing

Are you drawing on a computer with a special stylus? I'm wondering how you got the black so solid if you are using ink. If you're using ink, are you doing a pencil drawing first and tracing like the comic guys do or separately?

    Thanks again, Mystic-Scholar!

And to answer your question, Raymond, I do everything traditionally with pen and ink. I wouldn't begin to know how to draw digitally. That being said, I do scan my finished pieces in and use Gimp to strengthen the contrast and make the darks darker so as to help eliminate any pen strokes that may show.

    Here's a 14"x 17" commissioned piece I just got done with for a client...

    Artwork

Those are great, Glad! Want to do some art for an old homebrewed module? My brother and a friend and I wrote it back in the '80s; now I'm going back and reworking it and (substantially) improving it, and plan to submit it to Dragonsfoot (plus give away copies to anyone interested).

Great art! One of the things I love is the facial expressions, everything from surprise, to defiance, to fear (none of the bland "anger" artwork that is so common). I'd make only one suggestion: More! Cool

    Merline with a Mustache?

The guy in the top right might be wearing Merlin's chrome dome from the movie "Excalibur." Some times in black and white, it's hard to tell if there's a homage going on or not. Cool stuff.

Hey your art looks great! I love different kinds of games especially World of Greyhawk. I definitely try to create something like that. Not sure if I'll be able to :)

Hello everyone! I'm glad to be here. I love all your art works. I think I'll try to create something so I need your feedback guys. As for me, I'm interested in online games. Besides Dungeons and Dragons, I also like online bingo. That's fun Happy

Hi evelyn. Welcome aboard. I used to go to actual, real-world bingo with an ex. It wasn't really my cup of tea but she liked the bingo & I liked the cheap meals. So it worked for both of us! For a while anyway. ;)
