    Buying/Selling Prices

    Hi,

What differences between these prices you usually use in campaign? And official suggestions? I only found in PHB that gems selling price 20% lower than market price.

    Thanks

I generally use 0–30% of the listed sale price for captured weapons and armor (depending on the quality; orc crap is worthless). For other trade goods, I usually offer the PCs 50–60%, modified by the Charisma reaction adjustment.

Do you use rule that new level costs 1500 gp per level?

How you modify costs by the Charisma reaction adjustment? Just by increasing your 50-60% by this modifier?

Just so. I like to make that stat count for something tangible.

I base prices on comic books. Since they cost 0.60 in 1980 and now cost $3.00, that's a five-fold increase in price. Thus, all prices in the PH should be increased by 500%.

That dagger that cost 2gp now costs 10gp.
The long sword now costs 75gp.
Chainmail now costs 525gp, and finally...
A suit of Plate mail now costs 2000gp!

    OK, I don't do this...but I should!!!

Actually, all PH prices should be divided by 10, and treasure cut down appropriately. Then you don't have the Oerth being made up 5% platinum, 10% gold, 15% electrum, 20% silver, 25% copper, and 25% of all other base metals/elements. Laughing
