Anybody recall the siv?
Siv are FR monsters. Kung fu frogger dudes, LE in alignment.
They seem like a good fit for Wastri.
What about introducing the siv as the (relatively new) products of Wastri's strange breeding programs at the Sacred Polystery?

Xaeyruudh is a poster active on CandleKeep, by the way. Cool dude.

Note: they can walk on water with a dexterity check.

They remind me of the Rylti in Kane: Bloodstone.

I've thought the same thing. Lawful evil "elitist bigot" frog monks who dominate "the Vast Swamp": they seem tailor-made for Wastri, and a better fit for the Greyhawk than the Realms. They almost feel like a creature that was developed with Greyhawk in mind and stuck into the Realms for want of a Greyhawk-specific book to put them in. Of course, Monsters of Faerun includes many generic D&D creatures like aarakocra and perytons as well as Realms-specific monsters.
They also fit Wastri better than bullywugs do, though the friction between Wastri's goals and the bullywugs' traditions (and the friction between independent bullywugs and elitist sivs attempting to control them) can make for good roleplaying too.
Who else was surprised to see grungs (originally from Greyhawk Adventures) appear in Volo's Guide to Monsters? That book had a pretty good take on them, too.

From the Ashes also mentions lizard men and troglodytes and "feral gray elves to the south." Also humanoids and trolls. The Scarlet Brotherhood may be breeding "acid-spitting otyughs."
The random encounter chart in Return to the Tomb of Horrors adds will o' wisps, grippli, ghasts, wererats, and crystal oozes. Dark nagas live in Skull City.

Thanks!
Is Return to the Tomb of Horrors worth buying?

I think so, assuming you can get it for a reasonable price.

I just want to mention that kuo toa were the original monk fish-men from D2, Descent Into the Depths of the Earth.
Kuo toa don't seem to fit with Wastrian worship, until you remember that their myths tell of being driven underground in ancient wars. Perhaps Wastri has promised to return them to their ancient birthright in the sun. _________________ SirXaris' Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SirXaris?ref=hl
