|
|
Ladies and Gents,
Hello! I hope this is the right/best place to ask this, but I registered specifically to see if anyone has the answer...
Jolene of Samprastadar. Important lady, yes? Yes. So where is Samprastadar? I mean, it can't very well be some podunk backwater if the daughter of the Plar of Veluna has taken is as her demonym, can it? So where/what/how big is it?
Many thanks in advance,
LL |

Looks like, per Jason Zavoda's index, that it is mentioned in the LGG on page 130:
Quote: |
Samprastadar [TWN]
LGG - 130

And that's the only place we know of it for sources published prior to 2003.

Surprisingly, I couldn’t find anything in any of the LG Veluna materials in my archive (though it’s hardly complete). |

Thanks for the replies, gents! Glad to know it's not just me that's coming up empty on this. Never even heard this place-name until recently. I've been playing since '78, and it's always just been "Jolene of Veluna"... |

As far as it being a town, that's speculation on Jason's part unless he knows something we don't. Though that does make sense. |

I think it's the name of her noble house, not a town. It's common in the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer to add "of [noble house]" to the name of nobles. As in "Baron Anladon of Neheli," "Ivid I of Naelax," or "Duke Luschan VIII of Rhola." |

That is true. Also [TWN] indicates anything from a hamlet to a city. |
