    Sybarate Isle Mapping

    Hey folks,

    Mapping inquiry.

I've heard that Sybarate Isle is first made mention of in one of the UK series of adventures. I have a few of the UK modules, but I guess not the one with Sybarate Isle. Some of the UK mods have wonderful maps in them, so I was wondering if the UK mod with Sybarate Isle has some sort of map of this island.

For those who have seen my maps, you will know that I try to do a sort of topography with them. If the mod with Sybarate Isle has any paragraphs describing the terrain (human, vegetation, physical) I'd be very happy if anyone who has this module could pass along such info.

UK1 Beyond the Crystal Cave is the module that deals with Syberate Island. But it doesn't actually have a map of the island IIRC.

    Ah, Thanks!

I was just able to get my hands on a copy.

Something strange here. I have the LGG map, and comparing it to UK1's description of Sybarate Isle... there seems to be a huge discrepancy.

The LGG map show Sybarate Isle as about 10 miles wide by 40 miles long. Interesting because UK1 describes Sybarate Isle as having an area of "about 20 square miles."

So... what to do. Draw Sybarate Isle as "about 20 square miles" and "about 1 miles off the south coast of Fairwind Isle", or 10 miles by 40 miles and 10 miles off the coast of Fairwind... Personally, I'm probably going to draw it as written in UK1... which means that I'm going to need to redo a good deal that I have already drawn...

Ah well, such is the way with research!

    Thanks!
