Temple of Elemental Evil Adventure System Boardgame

Not sure this bodes well for a 5E Greyhawk.

It's clearly set in the Sword Coast so shoe-horned into FR. Not good.

The adventure module that is coming out is set in the Realms too. They are tying it all in with their MMO game.

I have a big doubt we will see any other settings but FR this year.

There is no guarantee the board game will be tied to the Realms too. It may just be an opportunity to throw Greyhawk folk a bone. The boardgames they do seem to be themed pieces anyhow, like the Ravenloft one.

Like I said WoTC won't publish anything new for Greyhawk. Instead they will shoe horn it into another setting. That speaks volumes for me. Its obvious that the decision makers feel Greyhawk material is far more superior to anything else out there. They just can't use any original material for other game settings. Poor Ed Greenwood. He makes a successful setting only to have his material disregarded in place of material that belongs in another setting.

This was the same thing they did at the end of 4E. Write Greyhawk material for a setting that's not Greyhawk.

Doesn't look like it. The blurb clearly says "you must explore the dungeons beneath the Sword Coast". Agree the pieces will possibly be of some use, though.

They wouldn't do Greyhawk right anyway. I am happy we get to continue the setting our own way.
