    Greyhawk City: Undercity map

This question is for those of you who own the City of Greyhawk boxed set (1989?). Look at the Undercity map.

Does the city sewer system interconnect with the Common Crypts in the Old City or not? In looking at the map it appears (to me, at least) that the crypts (represented by solid green lines) are above the sewer system (represented by open blue lines) and not interconnected, but wondering if I am mistaken.

"The only known entrance is at the Common Crypt building, area T15."

There could be unknown entrances... Cool

Reviewing the map, it does not appear as if the sewer intersects the crypts, and that the crypts are indeed located above the level of the sewers, though they do appear to intersect other passages.

OK, thinking I misinterpreted where the New Crypts end and the Old Crypts begin. Initially I had that transition occur where the sewer line intersects the tunnels of the catacombs (above this region you will see the Processional). However, my player, perhaps very correctly, recently deduced that the transition zone actually occurs further east where the rooms are all clustered around the title itself "Old Crypts." Embarassed This means the long corridor that goes north, makes a sharp turn east, then turns yet again north would be the line of demarcation. In all, that makes 14 chambers. In retrospect, I think he is correct...

Several "Secret Tunnels" connect the Sewer with the Crypts; Old and New.

Discovering one of these "Secret Tunnels" would easily grant your party ready access. I have no doubt that OMG would know of several of these "Secret Tunnels." By the Nine Hells, she probably created a couple of them. Wink

I might be starting a scenario in Greyhawk proper and took a look a the maps. What is the scale? I have the notation: 1" = 600'? written in the front of one of the booklets, but "1/2" = 100 yards" on the back of one of the maps. Is either right? I've looked all over, but can't find the answer.

Who makes a map with no scale?! Mad Evil rolleyes Confused

When adding to the seeds maps, there's plenty of room for additional, sub-levels, etc.

Here's Rob Kuntz's original map of the sewers beneath the city, for further inspiration:

-Comparing the distances on the map for The Adventure Begins to the Greyhawk City boxed set maps I get about 1" = 240 yards.

...but comparing it to map of the Arena in Dungeon #128 takes us back to 1" = 100 yards... Confused
