    Map of Seaton
Posted on Sun, December 05, 2004 by Farcluun
cwslyclgh writes "Seaton, first mentioned in the classic Module U1: The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh, is the capital of the Viscounty of Salinmoor. Although it is the capital Seaton isn't that large, with a population of only about 5000 permanent residents. The population was nearly double that a decade past, but the troubles of the last few years has caused many to move away from the city, and even the Viscounty. Only time will tell if the current period of relative stability will cause Seaton's population to rise once more.

Excellent work Wes. I didn't know you did cartography too. Are there any other classic module towns on your list to map?

well I made the map of Seaton because it is the main area of opperations in my weekly Salinmoor game... I might post my maps of Burle and Saltmarsh (Which was never actually mapped in the U trilogy) at a later time, but both are still in frehand form, and would take quite a bit of work to get up here... so I would not expect them any time soon :)

    Glad you liked the map!

Wow that would be so cool! As a staggering coincidence, my characters are currently holed up in Saltmarsh trying to work out why the henchman of a former PC has been found by the Dunwater Resistance partially transformed into a snake-man. Maps of Burle and Saltmarsh would be very useful indeed.

In addition, is there any gazeteer information about the towns beyond what is listed in the old modules? I have noted that some recent LGG modules were set in Saltmarsh and that Ned Shakeshaft - the assassin from the original modules - is now Saltmarsh's mayor! It looks as though the area has been developed quite a bit but I'm not sure where to find the information.

well I do not know how soon I can get to it... but I could probably have one of the maps (probably Burle) ready to submit around the first of the year.

I realy don't keep up with Living Greyhawk stuff, (and if I did I would probaly be more knowledgeable about the Duchy of Urnst as that is the home region for my state)... so I don;t know what if anything they have been doing with salinmoor... Ned Shakeshaft as mayor seems wonky though (Espeicaly considering that the original modules indicate that Saltmarsh doesn't have a mayor, and is instead run by a council).

I suppose the leader of the council could be titled a mayor, although Ned Shakeshaft is an odd choice!

I plan to do a search of the Keoland Yahoo site to see what references there are to Saltmarsh, Seaton, and Burle in old posts sooner or later. I'll take whatever scraps of info I can get!

The only info on Burle that I can recall is that it's bigger than Saltmarsh and has a temple to Pelor (I think).

Great work! Years ago my main character Sand along with a few other privateers from Keoland slipped into Seaton and razed the dock area. We were about to move into town itself when a flottila of Sea Princes ship's approached the harbor cutting us off from leaving. We got to know Seaton very well as those of us that were captured were made into slave labor and forced to repair what we destroyed. Nice to see what we had to help build :)

While I don't regularly campaign anywhere near Seaton, it's always nice to have a map - of any place. This is a good contribution because you never know where the PCs will want to go next.

Great map! I have a group of PC's over in Saltmarsh right now. It's nice to have an excellent map to use should they venture into Seaton.

So this map was posted almost 20 years ago now. As the previous commenter pointed out, the download link to the map hasn't been working in a long time. Does anyone here happen to have a copy of this beautiful map?
