Heh. :) As I noted before, the tale is widely inaccurate. This is intentional. Some of the inaccuracies weren't so, but I'll pretend that they were - it adds to the flavour of the piece.

I've given this version of the legend to the bard in my campaign. Hopefully they may investigate further at one point. I think I'd find their expedition quite amusing.

Acererak/Acherak is given as a Suel archmage for two reasons: 1) I didn't research the matter much beforehand, going primarily on the (lack of) description in the original module, and 2) the remains of the Suel Empire are becoming quite important in my campaign.

There are a few other things that your comment have made me think about, so excuse me if I now go and incorporate them into another article. :)

Incidentally, most of what I'll be submitting is based on my personal Greyhawk campaign, in which the year is currently 583 CY. Although it is mostly based on the 1983 WoG set and draws great inspiration from the LGG, much of the more arcane lore discussed in the OJ, LGJ, FtA or similar I'm probably unaware of, and so strangely enough, won't be incorporated.

Where possible, I'll conform to canon, but mostly I expect the articles will give an alternative view of the World of Greyhawk, some of which I hope will be adaptable to more canonical campaigns.

    Cheers,
    Merric, the Dreamer-Minstrel
