    just because miners didn't use carts and tracks in the middle ages does not mean that the technology didn't exist for them to have done so, metallurgy was certainly advanced enough that track could have been laid, and mine carts are not terribly dificult to design. It must also be remebered that the Flanaes IS NOT a true reflection of a middle ages society, nor can it be as long as magic,and monsters run amok.
