Well, I just took the names of the most infamous gnoll packs from the LGG, and forgot to check out anything on Bone March.  One thing that marks my work is that I tend to do only the barest of research, usually in the LGG, the 2E Monstrous Manual, the 1E monster manuals, and the original 1983 boxed set, plus whatever other bits and pieces I come across.  My own conversations with Gary Holian, for instance, led me to incorporate what he told me about the Key of Spinecastle into my own writings on Bone March.

Other than that, I tend to ignore most recent canon, especially given how much anything that doesn't have the names Holian, Mona or Weining seems to suck these days.  I find it's simply more rewarding-and more fun-to make stuff up than spend hours sifting through canon of dubious quality and questionable reliability for something that directly matches what someone else wrote.
