Players, introduce yourselves and your characters in this thread. Note your experience with Greyhawk, if any, and the style of campaign you like to play.
Hi I'm Dale from Columbus, Ohio. I've been playing in Greyhawk since the early 80s with some forays into home brew settings and the Judges Guild Wilderlands of High Fantasy setting (original and recently the 3.5 conversion). Got re-interested after 3E.
I like games with a lot of character ties to the setting versus Joe Platemail III who was born with a spiked chain in his hand and no background. Greyhawk's always felt like home, so this should be a great game.
I'm looking forward to playing Grakniir, a half-orc, half-suel cleric of Kord. The setting is especially of interest to me because I recently ran a campaign in the Flinty Hills/Bone March and always wanted to spec out Spinecastle. Now I get to see it though the eyes of a player!
Thanks for this opportunity.
- Dale

The name's John, you know one of those rare and exotic names you rarely see in today's society, and I live in Sherwood, Oregon. Been playing Dungeons and Dragons since the red boxed set back in the day. Recently, thanks to Ashur, my interest in Greyhawk has been rekindled after a 18? (geez) year stint in Forgotten Realms. Gary mocks my FR past but that's ok because there are always two...a master and an apprentice... Thanks to the Dungeon Magazine adventure paths such as Shackled City and Age of Worms I have really enjoyed playing in Greyhawk again and as a result I found Canonfire much to my liking and really look forward to playing in this campaign.
I'll be playing my normal stereotype which is a ranger. I originally made my first character in 1st edition as an elven ranger named Sylvos. Well...18 years later he's still my favorite and is normally my handle in anything D&D or online related. I've been playing in a few play by post games on both my site and some others for the last few years not to mention my own tabletop group I meet with every Sunday. So this game will be even more interesting to me since my Greyhawk knowledge is shabby at best and this presents an excellent opportunity to learn more about the World of Greyhawk.
The character I am playing is named Cyre Winterwolf. Cyre is a wood elf ranger hailing from the Adri Forest near the Bone Marsh. The opportunity to play in Spinecastle is very, very appealing and I can't wait to see how an elf will survive in a fortress of orcish habitation. I enjoy a game that challenges you so we'll see how long I can make this guy last before he ends up in an orc cooking pot!

Hey I'm Mike from Illinois. Since the 80's I've dabbled in most every TSR/WotC setting but the only constant in my RPG experience has been Greyhawk. In addition to my long running home GH campaign, I am a regular contributor at canonfire (Ull series) and I am the creator of a GH themed webcomic.
As I tend to DM, I've never really 'played' in the World of Greyhawk so I am eager to see how someone else runs the show. I prefer stories that go into the lore and history of the setting. Mysteries and exotic locations being a must. I also like the small details of GH's deities and infernal cults and how their worshippers and dogmas affect the setting. When I do play in a RPG whatever the system or setting I tend to make female humans. So why change now?
I'll be playing Mila Krejarov, a Rhennee runaway with some issues and agendas. I don't use Rhennee enough in my own game so I see this as an opportunity to explore the race and culture more.

Hi. I'm Dethand. I been playing GH for a long time. I like to kill stuff, takes its l3wt and level up so naturally I chose to play a half-elf bard/rogue named Esmeria Silvanos, aka 'The Crimson Bard'. You can view the character sheet here. _________________ Canonfire Community Supporter and Forum Justicar

Howdy. This is Samwise. I've played D&D since 1979, and Greyhawk since the day I got the original setting folio when it first hit the shelf. When not losing teeth I write evil things for Living Greyhawk, eviler things for Canonfire, and happy, smiling, puppies at play things for Dragon.
I usually just DM, but I couldn't pass up the chance to abuse the Netbot.
As for style, I'm like Dethand, with an added step of taking over the world.
As for my character, I will be playing Lord Garasteth (first name to be revealed as soon as I think of a cool one), a relatively minor scion of House Garasteth, come to the Bone March seeking power, power, and if possible, more power. I am a non-specialist wizard who primarily uses evocations with some conjurations and necromancy as back up, and other schools for defense and minor support. (I've got haste and mass enlarge person, otherwise I'll just be blowing stuff up and protecting myself.) I am also a minor sage, and speak numerous languages, although my social skills are generally limited to giving orders and having servants obey them. At least I'll be able to translate and tell you when we are about to be slaughtered.

Hey all, I'm Jonathan from California. I've been playing D&D since the original 3.0 core books way back in 2001, when I was laid up for a stretch and bored. I only discovered Greyhawk about a year and a half ago, and have taken a shine to the relatively undeveloped regions in and around the Thillonrian.
I've never actually *played* in a campaign in 10 years of RPGing, preferring to assert my vast DM powers, so this will be a new and exciting experience for me. My campaigns usually revolve around dungeon crawling and featured a sickeningly high amount of undead, so I'm looking forward to seeing Greyhawk from a fresh perspective.
I will be playing Magnus Bjornsson, a Fruztii barbarian/fighter currently residing in Ratik. He is trying to enter Spinecastle to exact vengeance upon the orcs that killed his bride-to-be. I'm looking forward to seeing how this all plays out, and what lurks in these dark alleyways.

My name is Brian, and I've been playing Greyhawk since the mid 80's. I played FR a few times, but suffice to say it wasn't Greyhawk. As to what type of campaign feel I like, take as examples the atmosphere in the Lord of the Rings movies, Conan the Barbarian, and The Mission. Generally dramatic realism, with a bit of light banter. There is no Jar-Jar in my Greyhawk!!! I may joke, but that would not be in character for my campaign.
The character I am playing is "Rognor the Impaler", a half-orc mercenary freelancer who is seeking his fortunes in the armpit of Spinecastle. Whoever has the cash will gain the services of his strong sword arm.
My name is Chet. My first experience with Greyhawk occured when I first picked up the folio back in 80-81. I have loved the setting ever since. I played a lot of AD&D in the eighties, took a sabbatical of some 14 years, and came back to gaming in 2000.
I will be playing a yet unnamed half-orc rogue, the offspring of a oeridean Ratikkan female kidnapped by a Bone March raiding party and the half-orc barbarian/fighter that eventually took her as his concubine in Spinecastle.
Brought up in the unstable and often violent lands of the Bone March, my rogue found himself without a racial base, never belonging to any one group, but incurring the wrath of all. As such, he learned the subtle language of diplomacy and the ways of thievery at an early age. he is good with a lock and skilled in avoiding scything blades of death.

Yo, I'm Rich, aka chatdemon. Been playing D&D since around 1980, when I was introduced to it by some of the guys at school (I was in the 3rd grade at the time). Played random Basic D&D games until 84 or 85, when we picked up the GH box set and started using some of the AD&D stuff to expand the game.
I gave up on 3e D&D for the most part a couple years ago, so I'm kind of anxious to give it another try, and this is also my first expereince with play by post, so we'll see what happens.
My PC is Skarch, a female xvart druid whose tribe was recently wiped out by Gnolls somewhere in the endless caverns that lie around and beneath the Spinecastle ruins. Skarch managed to escape with her dire rat companion by wildshaping and fleeing through small tunnels the gnolls couldnt get through, and made it to the surface, where she's been hanging around the "tent town" outside Spinecastle city, carousing with the other goblinoids and passively seeking a group of bigger, tougher folk to latch onto to return to the ruins and do some exploring, and maybe kick some gnoll arse.
