I remember reading, on some blog or thread somewhere, that Sargent's intent with Philidor was something like he was a construct co-created by Pelor and Corellon Larethian. But I have no recollection of where I read this, or if there was any other information or intent attached to it.

Does anyone know where this came from?

Noel Graham, aka Watcher, asked him and posted the response to the Greytalk mailing list in the mid-1990s.

Maldin also mentioned it on his website.

I'd be really curious if anyone has ever used Philidor in their campaigns in a significant way, other than as magical background.
