John Eric Holmes Fiction - Canon?

Anybody remember this guy's short stories in Dragon? They all centered around the recurring characters of Boinger the Halfling and Zereth the Dark Elf. I half remembered one of the stories, and just recently got ahold of some old Dragons with them. I had thought they were set in Greyhawk, but the only reference I've seen so far is to the Green Dragon inn, in "The Sorceror's Jewel" Dragon # 46. Great illustrations by Jim Roslof on that one. Here's the wikipedia article on Holmes - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Eric_Holmes with a bibliography of his Boinger and Zereth stories. I've got most of the stories now so I'll be checking for any other GH refs.

Opinions on whether these should be canon or not? Anything else?

You'll definitely want to check out these threads for additional sources/details about Holmes' campaign setting:

Thanks Grodog! I also found this thread on Dragonsfoot - http://www.dragonsfoot.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=16989 - discussing the novel, The Maze of Peril. That says the setting for the Green Dragon is in the town of Caladan, and that some of the characters swear by Crom and other fictional/RW gods, so I guess it's not canon. Still fun stuff to read though. Interestingly the titular maze in Holmes novel is very similar to the sample dungeon in the blue 1st edition Basic Rules book, which as you know, Holmes authored/edited. Man! That brings back memories!

I really enjoyed JEH's Boinger/Zereth fictions----they're fun romps through D&D land, and his D&D land included Cthluhu, which is always a good thing in my book! :D
