Gith, yanki, zerai, Ilthids, and so forth

Can anyone give me a little more background that the paragraph or so i can get fom the various Monster Manuals. I.E Githyanki are evil, worship a lich, hate Githzerai and Mind Flayers, and ride dragons, and have really sharp swords.
