Really cool GVD. I did not know there were volcanoes in Antarctica. the other exotic structures they took shots of definitely give you an idea of the inhospitable terrain one would face if you were to run a campaign into the Black Ice.
Speaking of Black Ice I read something recently that said black ice reflects heat so it could cause cooler temperatures overall. The Icy Sea Thillonria and Cold Marshes fit that, but the warmer Drawmidj Ocean is strange. Also I would expect as far south as Iuz and Riftcanyon to have a longer cold season perhaps.

I think I also read something about black ice reflecting heat, perhaps in an article here, but the opposite should be true. Maybe it was more complicated, sort of like global warming causing an ice age by slowing the Atlantic current: High temp of ice causing high pressure ... I do not know. _________________ Plar of Poofy Pants

I'd be interested in reading that if you can remember where you saw it. I've read some stuff saying that more particulate matter in the atmosphere (which would also probably result in darker polar ice) will result in cooler temperatures due to blocking solar radiation. I guess if black ice were absorbing more sunlight then that might further reduce temperatures because it wouldn't be reflected back into the smog layer which would then trap the heat, like white ice would, but I sure as heck ain't no climatologist. That said though, I don't see how anyone would come to the conclusion that black ice would ever actually reflect heat, unless maybe you're Michael Crichton.

Smillan, I have no recollection where I read this and after some thought I'm sure I am misremembering the whole thing I read since black obviously absorbs heat. Man, that sounds like a dodgy answer at a congressional hearing. Ah well.

Mort, you crack me up! Plus, a have to respect someone who loves his home country of Ull as much as you do. Now get out there and bring that poppy crop in for the village! I know you can do it! Make us proud, son!
