Greyhawk or not???

I read somewhere (can't remember where exactly.) that "The Lost Island of Castanamir"was a module somehow tied in with the Greyhawk setting, now i know that most generic modules could be placed into almost any campaign world (with the exception of DARKSUN/Planescape mostly),but this article was kinda specific.
I don't recall if the module even mentions Oerth or what relevence it has to Greyhawk at all,i'm assuming it would be more closely tied to MYSTARA or just a plain old generic setting.
Would it be safe to assume that the article was based on the opinion of the writer or wer'e thier any ties to Oerth and Castanamir? Confused

i believe it was a generic seting, but since C1 is suppose to be greyhawk, than maybe its easy to fit C3 in it.

dont now about "canon", thouhg

Makes this one seem all the more perplexing, the jeff easley interior art doesent help much either, but i think it very well is generic.....

I seem to remember reading something recently placing this in GH, but there's no mention of Oerth or GH that I could find. There is reference to a Sea of Pastures and to Goblin Wars of 200 years though both names for geographical features and historical events could be pretty local. I'd say no officially but a creative DM could easily shoehorn it in.

Super Genius Babies

Hi All -
Ask Rasgon.
He's a fountain of knowledge. He knows more GH lore than everybody combined. He's made dark pacts with He Whose Name Is Not To Be Spoken to have Bocob like knowledge regarding Greyhawk. I really dislike that guy.*

Be Well. Be Well Liked.

*I just dislike the fact that I don't know anything that I know to the degree that Rasgon knows Greyhawk. So my dislike is just that of a jealous younger brother that knows he'll never be as good as the "Hero of the Empire," good looking, well respected and nice older Heir to the Empire brother, and if I ever see him alone without his guards I'm gonna 'shiv' him, kinda dislike!

I believe C3 was "adopted" by Living Greyhawk, but someone more knowledgeable than I may correct me.

And so Rasgon speaks, by the proxy of Smillan's link! Happy

Nice job Smillan. Cool

And you guys will have to forgive the Theocrat, its just a Pholtus thing, whenever Issak thinks of Dread Tharizdun and those who have made unholy pacts with him the Theocrat goes a little crazy. Evil Grin

As Smillan's link shows, yes, the module has been officially retconned into the Greyhawk canon thanks to the Living Greyhawk Journal. Castanamir is a native of what is now part of Zeif.

I'm satisfied with all given answers, particularly bocco...i mean rasgons's answer.I guess it's a toss up then which is best used by the discretion of the DM.

You know, what I get from that picture is, "We should finish him off with this rock...it'll look more like an accident!"
