Spritual Hammer

I've been thinking that instaed of manifesting itself as a hammer, why wouldn't it manifest itself as a dieties primary weapon? Footman's Mace(Pelor), Staff (St. Cuthbert), Sickle(Wee Jas), etc.

Tiernan,

In my world, absolutely!

I dont change the damage inflicted by the spell for balnce reasons, but in keeping with the flavor of the relationship between a deity and his priests, that is exactly how I handle it.

Why would a priest of Wee Jas be granted a hammer as a weapon by his god? Doesnt make a whole lot of sense does it.

This is exactly what it does in 3E. I won a 3E PHB when 3rd Edition came out and I`ve been using it as a reference often for strange 2E spells.

Aside from tha many things i don`t like about 3E, it did a lot of good changes...

I got the idea out of an Adventurers stories when a priestess of Wee Jas was casting a spell and it came out sickle shaped.
