Finally got around to reading the whole thing. This is a very good article. Thanks for the history. I have a question or two...

From Design Principle Five:

"...Chroniques de la Lune Noire), would have been set in the far east of the continent of Oerik,..."

1) Shouldn't that be the far "west" instead of "east"?

2) Is there a source for this tidbit? You may have listed it but i failed to see it. I find the Black Moon chronicles interesting, but they don't seem to gel quite right with the Greyhawk/Oerth world. Is this direct from Gygax or is this secondhand? Just curious.

Whoops! Yes that should be west. I'll fix it.

As for sources, the idea that Francois Marcela-Froideval would have had his own contributions in Greyhawk is quoted near the bottom of the article. As for where it would be, Gary said this in one of this many Q&A threads on ENWorld:

"His [Marcela-Froideval's] area of Oerth was located to the west, and it included the island of Mephreton. "
