Hold of the Sea Princes: gods (pre-Wars, variant)

GODS OF THE HOLD OF THE SEA PRINCES

Bralm (cult protects slaves but endorses slavery at the same time)
Celestian (honored by sailors in general and navigators in particular)
The Green Man (farmers, brewers and grog-makers, Sybaryte Isle)
Ehlonna (Berghof only, a small local cult with little political power)
Fharlanghn(patron of explorers)
Joramy (cult strongest near the Hellfurnaces)
Kelanen( small cult, Monmurg, swordsmen/ duelists/bravos)
Llerg (patron of Amedian maroons)
Olidammara (small and secretive cult, cities only)
Procan (powerful cult in Monmurg and Port Toli)
Ralishaz (Holders blame him for ill luck or invoke his name to curse their enemies)
Velnius (a favored god of mariners and farmers alike)

demigods
Pasperus (evil son of Celestian no cult, but features in sailors’ tales as a boogeyman)
Tel Star (Pasperus’ better-loved but no less fickle sibling, sometimes invoked by sailors)
Rahda the Child-God (features in folklore, associated with venomous snakes—a not uncommon menace in the lowland fields)
Rudd (name invoked for good fortune or aid in tests of skill; a popular artistic theme depicts her playing cards with Ralishaz)

Every god on the list is either N or CN, which fits the alignment map in WoG, except for a couple with very minor cults or who feature in story and custom but don't have active cults.

I’d add the following:

Allitur
Delleb
Nerull
Norebo
Obad-hai
Olhydra
Osprem
Pelor
Sotillion
Syrul
Xerbo
Zilchus

These fit the listed regional alignments most closely:

Xerbo N
Obad Hai N
Norebo CN
Sotillion CG (cn tendencies)

The others could be good fits for the Hold as I see it if i just make their cults small and politically weak.

Perhaps Osprem's cult is locally a part of Xerbo's. A shrine to her within a Xerbo temple.

Olhydra might be a boougeyman as Pasperus is, an evil entity feared by sailors.

Thanks for making the Deity Database, by the way. It's great stuff.

Thanks. I think UK2 & UK3 suggest that the former Duchy of Berghof in the highlands is more NG than the coastal Sea Princes. There’s also a LN monastery.

I had the impression that Quern was alone in his Hermitage and the other monks lived outside Berghof. The monk met travelling says the Monastery of the Grey Cowl is 'many leagues' to the north.

But how big is Berghof?
It could still be within the bounds of the duchy.

In any case, there is a monastery with monk-class monks somewhere north of that part of Berghof described in the modules and possibly within the Sea Princes' territory.

We should add this to the non-Scarlet Brotherhood monks list in the other thread.
