The Greyhawk Logo

Does anyone know which artist actually designed and did the Greyhawk Adventures (and later Greyhawk) logo?

In the August 1988 issue of Dragon, Ward outlined the readers' ideas that were accepted132 and Greyhawk Adventures appeared soon after as a response to Greyhawk fans76. The book borrows the same title as Rose Estes' line of novels, Greyhawk Adventures, and uses the same cover logo.

My answer does not solve your question. Clyde Caldwell is credited with the cover of "Saga of Old City". I ask him about the logo.

Thank you to Mr Clyde Caldwell :

Hi Jacques,

Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, I did design and paint the "Greyhawk Adventures" logo. I think the word "Greyhawk" was already in existence, using that particular typeface, and I just incorporated that into the design. I can't remember if the word "Adventures" was pre-existing in that particular typeface. But I came up with the idea of having the type carved into the stonework, etc.

I also created the "Gazetteer" logo from scratch.

All the best,

Clyde Caldwell

Perfect! Thanks for tracking that down.
