Perhaps that list of OJ's should also list the file sizes, so people with slow/limited connections can plan their download schedule. ;-)

bandwidth + other stuffz

I think the entire site will be retooled soon. Right now the site has over 2 gigs of bandwidth, and we've gone over it! Yikes! I'll mention it to Theocrat but for now I'd wait till the 1st of the month. LOL

The new features I may be adding will be a hit counter and perhaps shrinking the filesize of the bg image, I like the idea about the file size since we are finalizing the Tarrasque-Edition of OJ 19, which will mark a full color edition of the OJ, as well as keeping the old stand-by of Printer-friendly.

OJ 20 is in the works as well. 20 will be a quick sweep release compared to 19, as we were trying out some new techniques and technology options with it. Now that we're underway with that the rest will be cakework.

In the meantime, if you know any artists who want to expand their resume' especially students we are openly accepting new art proposals at oerthjournal (at) gmail (dot) com.

Drop me a line if you have suggestions, proposals, ideas, or anything to the email above.

OerthJournal.com

Hi all -
As the owner of OJ.com - it is my responsibility to upgrade the account. Rick Miller is supposed to let me know when that happens.
Of course, if you ever see any issues with OerthJournal.com please let both Rick and myself know, becasue Rick would have to let me know that the bandwidth has been exceeded and then I have to fix it.
I've upgraded the OJ site's bandwidth once again - it's not a problem to do so.
It had 2.2G's of bandwidth and I've upgraded it to 4G's of bandwidth, which should be enough. It likely exceded the limits due to the new issue and the end of the month. Let's hope that this new upgrade holds out for a bit!
Be Well.

Might I suggest that one way to reduce the size of the files would be to set the type at 11pt (or leave it at 12pt and set the type to 90% horizontal), use less leading, reduce the margins to maybe .75 or .5 inch, and reduce the gutter. That may shave off a few pages. Resolution for the artwork shouldn't be more than 144 dpi. So far it looks like good content and I like the artwork.
