Bucknardia Acanum

Canoneers,

Need some help. I am becoming obsessed with the elusive Bucknard and was wondering if any of you possess the following Dragon Mags (# and pages below, from the Zavoda Magnum Opus) could tell me if the references to Bucknard are substantial, or merely a name drop

DRG#71 - 19
DRG#82 - 59

Respond here, or at Canonfire PM, where we can slip into something a little more comfortable...

Fairylover, just checked the CD-Version

DRG#71 - 19 -> No important reference, just states that Bucknard (as Mordenkainen and Tenser) is an example of important NPC.

DRG#82 - 59 -> Even less important. The article is a general collection of thematic Books containing spells penned by famous NPCs. Curiously, Bucknard's tome is rolled in 00 (and it just contains 3 non-unique spells related to images and reflections)

From a quick google search:

579 CY - The wizard Bucknard vanishes and is replaced in the Circle of Eight by Jallazi. The Spurned Cult of Iuz and the Cult of Vecna attempt to seize power in Greyhawk. War starts between the Horned Society and the Shield Lands.

579 CY Bucknard dissapears while exploring a demi-plane 9578 [23, 60]

He is also noted as having written the book in the netbook of books:
"Inexplicable Reflections" by Bucknard

He is rumored to perhaps have been an adventuring companion of Zagyg's in the Company of Seven in "A BRIEF *ANNOTATED* OUTLINE OF THE HISTORY OF ZAGIG YRAGERNE" an rtf file which i downloaded from who knows where. Also I don't know who the author is.

Edit: Author is probably Gary Holian. Found another vversion available here:

From Zavoda's fabulous GH index:

Quote:

Bucknard [NPC]
DMG1 - 122
DRG#71 - 19
DRG#82 - 59
LGJ#0 - 6
PGTG - 18,23
TAB - 60
WOGG - 33

Bucknards Everful Purse [ITM]

Hope that helps!

THX to you all

Cannoneers,

Looks like there ain't much out there on Buckkie, but I am in the midst of whipping up somethin' that will undoubtedly annoy some and delight others. I'll post it here eventually...

Thanks to you all, Wykthor (your Bucknard stealing Iuz soul gem idea is friggin' great), the redoubtable grodog, Thanael (HOLY CHRIST how did you find that Zagyg stuff?!?) and Tedra too!

Thanks for the compliment, Fairylover Smile . I have done a background for Bucknard's concubine (currently a vampire serving Maskaleyne) . If you wish I could post it next week (little time for translation at the moment)
