Bastion of Faith

Bastion of Faith is an old 2nd edition (generic) product regarding a Temple to Heironeous in Greyhawk with lotsa detail. Any takes on it. I thought I'd buy it on e-bay, unless it's a waste of time. Is it canon material? Please, help.

Thanks

The Bastion of Faith

First, check out the review of Bastion on CF. I agree with that review in that this is an excellent product.

While it was a generic D&D product, the Bastion is a Heironean temple through and through. There is some historical data on the formation of the Great Kingdom and Medegia as well. The details of Hextor's religion are first rate.

As far as where to place the Bastion...becasue this product was created as a generic module, no exact location was given. The suggested locales includes Chendl, Critwall, and Greyhawk. I suggest putting it in the east, in Nyrond, as many of the historical bits tie in nicely with the formation of Aerdy.

In my campaign, however, I put it in Ratik, as the last remenents of a group of Heironeans fleeing from the descent of Aerdy into evil, positioned to attempt to reclaim Aedy's heritage and fighting the Hextorians of the North Province.

At any rate, this product is terrific, I suggest you get it.

Although BASTION OF FAITH looks like a generic D&D supplemet, it is definately not. Clearly this was written for GH. BoF has a lot, and I mean a ton of good information. Mainly, the supplement focuses on this large castle/fort/temple to Heironeous, and can be placed anywhere on the Flanaess. But O-D mentioned above some great locations to use. I personally like BoF a great deal, and easily think it's worth the $20.00 you might have to shell out on eBay.

Anybody else like the late 2nd ed. products that came out? I perticulalry enjoy all of the GH stuff that came out in the last year or so of 2nd ed. I think all were really well done, including BoF.
