Here's some fun flavor for those who cast spells in Wenta's name:
Spells that provide a positive result for a target (hit points, Advantage, increased ability scores, etc.) may be represented by a feeling of intoxication without impairment. In other words, the target might feel “buzzed.”
Spells that inflict a negative result or condition (i.e. Paralyzation) may be represented by a feeling of illness and/or impaired intoxication.
Spells that produce a natural effect (plants, vines, etc.) will typically be represented by hops, barley, and/or wheat in some form.
Verbal Components
When appropriate, verbal components may take the form of a loud, lingering belch.
Somatic Components
If consuming a mug of ale or beer in lieu of other material components (see below), the somatic component is the handling of the mug and, usually, a “cheers” motion.
Material Components
Clerics or druids of Wenta may replace mundane material components with:
- A garland or “swag” of hops. This is a decorative arrangement of hop bines used in traditional or ceremonial contexts. A bine is a generic term for a group or arrangement of hops.
- Consuming a mug of fresh ale or beer (within 1 hour of it being poured from where it is stored) as part of the Magic Action. You may not use beer or ale created by magic.
Wenta’s holy water can be crafted from beer or ale.
SPELL EFFECTS (flavor for some particular spells)
Poison Spray: the “toxic mist” is pure grain alcohol.
Create or Destroy Water: if you use a mug of ale or beer as the Material Component, you may also create up to 10 gallons of beer or ale in an open container (by pouring your mug into the container). The beer or ale is the same quality as that used in the casting. It will become stale after 1-2 hours and undrinkable after 12 hours.
Augury: you may forego the usual material component of this spell by drinking 25 GP worth of fresh beer or ale during the casting time (keep ‘em coming).
Gentle Repose: you may forego the usual material component of this spell by pouring 2 fresh mugs of beer or ale (4 CP) on the target.
Gust of Wind: if you use a mug of ale or beer as the Material Component, the “strong wind” is produced from a long, loud belch (the Verbal Component).
