    Notes from Roger Moore

Roger Moore, former designer for the World of Greyhawk, delves into some of his thoughts on the World of Greyhawk (from before the time when he was working on the product line). Delving into a number of old modules, Mr. Moore tries to define what a Greyhawk adventure is. From there, a number of posts delve into minor issues and reveal tidbits of trivia (such as the origin of the Vecna Lives! module).

Other posts in this section focus on expanding beyond the confines of the Flanaess, using the scant evidence to be found in the ancient 1983 boxed set about the world. Mr. Moore does a bit of speculating about the nature of the Suel and the size of their dominion, as well as possible other places the fleeing Suel, Bakluni, and Oerids may have went to, and what kinds of cultures they may have run into.

In another post, the module S2 (White Plume Mountain) is examined for ways to provide more adventure opportunities, based not only on the history given within the module, but also based on developments in the setting since S2 had originally been published.

    Druids in Greyhawk

Posts from DM ScottW, Hrsnash, QSamantha, and AraganHOTC.

The old First Edition druid and it's hierarchy is examined for how to use it within the World of Greyhawk. The conversation quickly turns to the thorny question of druidic followers of the main three "druidic" gods of the Flanaess (Ehlonna, Obad-hai, and Beory), and how they interact with one another (and, potentially, with those who follow no specific god).

Later posts on the subject of druids deal with the demihumans (and other non-humans) and the possibility of druids from other species. Indcluded in this are some limited suggestions by AraganHOTC for these demihuman druids.

An intriguing, but short, post by QSamantha deals with ferral druids. These druids, possessed of the violence and fury of nature, are called, in her piece, Wendingo.

    Greyhawk Chronology

Posts from Hrsnash, DM ScottW, BrettE1, and BluSponge.

By analyzing hints given in some of the earlier modules, it is possible to construct a rough chronology of when the events were supposed to have taken place. One small problem with this is that it is generally agreed that GDQ1-7's events took place before T1-4's events, yet T1-4 is intended to be played before GDQ1-7.

In these posts, the analysis of comments and mentions made in the various old modules is made by the posters, as well as some details of their publication (and in some cases, pre-publication) history, in an attempt to make a coherent whole out of them. At one point, a digression is made into the ever-popular debate on the dates of Iuz's imprisionment.
