Posted Messages from TSR's Roger Moore

A series of posts by Roger Moore, former deisgner for the World of Greyhawk, made prior to his work on the line. A large number of subjects are touched upon, including a lengthy discussion on Mr. Moore's views on playing an evil PC and what the Online community can do to keep Greyhawk "alive" while in the hands of the fans of the setting (as in, no longer being published).

At the beginning are a handful of refrences which had not made it into Mr. Moore's index of Greyhawk refrences. These may or may not have made it into the final version which currently sits on Wizards of the Coast's website.

    A Vision of Celene

Celene has often been an enigmatic nation to those who run Greyhawk games. Presented in this collection is QSamantha's version of this elvish nation, during the years just after the Greyhawk Wars.

While short, the two posts made which describe this fey realm offer an intriguing possibility, as well as a potential explanation for the seemingly bizarre actions of Queen Yolande during the events of the Wars (including the rise of Turrosh Mak on her borders). Also included is the possibility of inter-elvish strife (which, of course, spells adventure opportunities for a DM to work with).

    Lost Gods of Greyhawk

Erik Mona (aka, Iquander), the genius behind the current truly 'Hawk products in print (The Living Greyhawk Gazetteer and Fright at Tristor) presents a number of deities which were "forgotten" in many of the earlier products, some of which still have yet to move beyond their obscure origins to see further detailing in print.

These include the Olman gods from Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan, as well as others drawn from the ranks of the demonic and diabolical, as well as gods presented in old (and often maddeningly obscure) novels.

    Keoland

Posts by Thane13, Hrsnash, KJNewquist, Hadrada, Chaos28, and Iquander.

Prompted by a question, a number of posters reveal their views on the Kingdom of Keoland. All, of course, prior to the publishing of the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer, although there are still a good many ideas which can be gleaned from this series of posts to be used in any campaign.

Many of the views presented focus on Keoland being a "sleeping giant", ready to rise to superpower status if it were to be roused from it's slumber. Also, discussion focuses on the feasability of Keoland launching wars of liberation or against the puppets of the infameous Scarlet Brothers.

One intriguing theory has Jolene of Veluna marrying either King Skotti or King Skotti's son, leading to Keoland's annexation of Veluna and southern Furyondy. While probabily not feasable in the 591 CY era, it might still be possible to work out such a situation...

Posted Messages from TSR's Roger Moore, Part II

Another rambling series of posts from former designer Roger Moore. Once again, a number of topics are touched upon, including a few more brief thoughts on evil PC's, the possibilities (or lack thereof) of a character class for prostitutes, and so on.
