    Best of Greyhawk, Volume 8

Al-Qadim: The Enlightenment of the Baklunish

Expanding on the discussions of the Baklunish gods and Al-Qadim started in volume 7, this piece by Psychlops deals with the adaptation of more than just the individual gods of Al-Qadim into Bakluni society. It also deals with the questions of adapting the Enlightenment and the Al-Qadim concept of Fate (distinct from Istus, goddess of Fate) into Oerth. While not lengthy or full of hard information, the piece does present some intriguing questions and possibilities for the course of Bakluni civilization.

    Imperial Keoland: A Timeline

A short timeline by HalberKill to try and clear up the confusion surrounding the Short War, the Small War, and Keoish Imperial Phase. While the events may have been altered with the setting having been republished twice since then, this short piece can still prove invaluable to anyone seeking to understand Keoish Agression. A small note at the end deals with the unrelated topic of Nyrondese domination of the Pale.

    Vecna: Bad to the Bone

A parody of a song by Sabretore.

Overview of the Flanaess: The Bandit Kingdoms and Stonik

Written by the Savant Iquander, this piece delves into what has been published about the Bandit Kingdoms, and presents it for use in the pre-Wars setting. It also takes a specific look at the city of Stonik, from it's foundation by Imperial Aerdy to it's existance as one of the more important of the Bandit Kingdoms (with liberal use of notes from the Gord series of novels).

Until the fateful day when someone manages to get hold of the unpublished Gygax manuscript about Stonik, this is probabily one of the best sources of information about the city available.

Pantheons of the Flanaess: Priest of Heironeous and Hextor

This piece, by Deathleaf2 (with some notes later on by Psychlops), delves into the emnity between the twin Oerid gods of War, and from where it originates. It then goes on to present writeups of the priesthoods of Heironeous and Hextor, complete with special spells and orders and abilities.

One odd topic covered are the Cur Blades, gnollish and flindish worshippers of Hextor, a topic often ignored by other writeups of the god.

Greyhawk Adventures: Wandering Stars and Scientific Adventures

Posts made by ULO, Iquander, TSR Roger, Psychlops, and Chaos28.

Tackling the question of what the wandering stars are, this topic quickly develops into comparisons of geocentric Oerths vs. heilocentric Oerths. While of academic interest, it would appear to be of little practical use to a DM when crafting adventures (outside of Spelljammer, that is), except for the last part, which delves into the use of science and scientific progress to create new adventures. For a DM looking for ideas of new things to try, this piece is invaluable.

    Languages of Greyhawk

Emirikol7 tries to tackle the often-debated subject of languages of Oerth and their feasability in this short piece.

    The Country of Nyrond

Posts made by TSR Roger and Iquander.

An examination of the Kingdom of Nyrond by Roger Moore, with an eye towards possibly adapting the BirthRight rules for use with the Kingdom. Additional notes made by Iquander add details found in the Gord series of Novels to Roger's framework of the Kingdom, as well as correcting the omission of details by Roger found in some modules.
