According to The Acaeum, World of Greyhawk 12 were originally earmarked for Village of Hommlet and Temple of Elemental Evil. World of Greyhawk 3 was supposed to be used for Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth, which was instead labeled Special 4. However, I remember reading elsewhere that World of Greyhawk 1 referred to the 1980 WORLD OF GREYHAWK® folio and World of Greyhawk 23 referred to the 1983 Guide and Glossography. I don't know which (if either) is accurate.

I read somewhere that the S4 - Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth was actually supposed to form part of the WG (World of Greyhawk) series. Due to publication delays and other problems, the adventure was put out under the S4 code and never re-issued as a WG module.

Because of this, when WG4 came out, it's code ovelapped the S4 code. Had things gone according to plan, S4 would actually have been WG3.

    1994 I called TSR

    Hi all -
In Oct. 1994 I had moved to Vegas and had left many of my gaming products behind in N. Carolina. I did however keep much of my Greyhawk collection.
So in Nov. 94, I called the 800# at TSR and talked with their customer service. I don't recall much of the conversation, but I do remember that the said that WG1-3 were never written. He did give a reason, why they just started with WG4, but I don't recall what it was.
The crux of what was said related to something was planned but not written/finished/published, so it became the two booklets in the WoG boxset as 1 & 2 and the map was 3.
I also think that this was discussed many times on Greytalk, and I do beleive a consensus was achieved, but I've forgotten what it is. I also believe that in of the UK magazines, I think Game Master Publications, I only have issues 1 & 2 in pdf and have 1 actual magazine, somewhere, So I can't reference them directly but I do believe one of the scenarios was menitoned.
Hope this helps more than it does in confusing the issue. This is another one of those Greyhawk Lore myths - like is Santa Clause real?
    Be Well.
