    Darlene map

I lost the Darlene map to the 83 box many years ago and have used the map with From the Ashes ever since. I cannot recall whether the two maps are identical or whether there are differences. Does anyone know? Thanks.

other then the paper quality, the maps are virtualy identical, with FtA adding only a few things to the map (such as "Lost Lands" written by Geoff and Sterich).

The maps are very close, but there are several locations on the From the Ashes maps that do not exist on the Darlene maps (Devarnish, Rel Deven, Kalstrand, and a couple more). I reason that these settlements were mere villages in 576 CY, which had grown into towns & cities by 585 CY.

Considering the population figures in Ivid the Undying as well as the supposed age of these settlements I think it's safe to assume that Sargent & Co intended these settlements to be old towns and cities needed to fill out the vast and empty tracts of land in the larger kingdoms. But as ever YMMV.
