    Pramas on Freeport in Greyhawk

Found this interesting tidbit on Greyhawk's influence on Freeport as published by Chris Pramas of Green Ronin Publishing -

"When I was first creating Freeport, I had the Lordship of the Isles in mind. The assassination of Anton Drac was meant to echo the overthow of Prince Latmac Ranold (Yellow Sign = Scarlet Sign in this equation). As others have pointed out though, you could easily use Freeport in other locations as well.

Whoa! Now that is something very interesting that I had not heard before. I didn't really have any desire to check it out before, but now I do. Thanks for that tidbit of information, GVD.
And if Chris is out there checking on CF... Interesting Indeed! ;-)

Interesting info about the Greyhawk inspiration. Freeport fits well into Greyhawk with very little modification and is very much worth checking out.

And no, I am not biased because they've got snake men in there! Happy

Even without this, Freeport is a cool setting, and easily transplantable to any location. I highly recommend it.

I always figured Vernport (Sea Barons) was the best place for Freeport.

However, at GenCon the Paizo staff announced that Green Ronin had given them permission to place Freeport in their setting, Varisia (which could possibly be part of western Oerik--see my speculations in the "paizo's World" thread).

IMC, I put Freeport in the Olman Islands.

I just bought the Pirate's Guide to Freeport. Good stuff. I'm working on placement now. I've considered the Hold of the Sea Princes and the lordship of the Isles both, and am leaning towards the latter.
