    Sobanwych

    Hi Guys!

So we have a new campaign started and plan on tackling several of the classic super modules. The PCs are all first level and we are using the Pathfinder rules. There is quite an "old school" feel to things and it is fantastic to be playing in Greyhawk again.

Currently, we are operating from Sobanwych. Two of our PCs are affiliated to the church St Cuthbert and are hunting for a missing priest while the other three have their own agendas. Our DM has us completing a prelude adventure or two before heading on to tackle the TOEE.

During last night's session we received our first clue that we may have to visit Hommlet sometime soon!

So the question is does anyone know of any official Sobanwych maps and information out there? Our DM has most of the 1st and 2nd Edition modules but we can't find anything related to the town in them. We also have read the article in OJ9 but would love any more information.

We would also be very interested in any Canonfire fan-made maps or information if anyone here is willing to share or point us in the right direction?

Any help and/or suggestions will be much appreciated.

Cheers for now and I will definitely post some updates soon!

"Hey, can I have a bite of your sobanwych?" Always wanted to say that, but seriously, folks... *ahem*

As far as I know the only mention of Sobanwych in an official product is the bit in T1-4 that says it is about halfway between Hommlet and Dyvers, and the note on the regional map that says it is to the east of Nulb. It also appears on the multi-part Flanaess map that was in some later issues of Dungeon (118-121 I think). It appears on some maps from the LG Verbobonc triad's website, which is still up at - http://www.verbobonc.net/. You have to register at that site to get access to the downloads, but it's worth it for the material. The maps show it near the headwaters of the Serault River. It also gets a couple lines mention in the "Journal of the Wanderer: A Wayfarer's Guide to Verbobonc", which is a pdf available from that same website. Not much info, but a little bit to go on.
