    Baony?

My group is running a knights & chivalry campaign, and me and another guy rotate as DMs every 3 months or so. It begins in the County of Urnst, and there is a lot of Iuz-related things going on, so that's what I started reading up on (so I'm prepared when it's my turn to start DMing).

From the Ashes, page 29, "Baony (golemlike beings with malign intelligence and mind-enfeebling gaze) are reported by some who have fled with their lives."

Baony? I've never heard of these guys. Golemlike, to me, made me think Warforged, which made me think Egg of Coot. The mind-enfeebling gaze made me harken back to thoughts of the Qullan, also apparent allies of the Egg if memory serves me correctly. Alas, I could find no information. Probably won't be an integral part of my campaign, but it just made me wonder.

    Evil qullan constructs? Any ideas?

Apart from the name, that description sounds like the Thassalos (also in From the Ashes).

I concur with SirXaris on this after reading the quote in my copy of "Atlas of the Flanaess." The thassalos (there are two varieties) is indeed a type of automaton crafted by priests of the Old One. The greater form can feeblemind victims with its gaze, as the entry mentions...

    Thassaloss. Definitely.

If you need the stats, let me know.
