Who serves Zilchus?

Has anyone seen (or written) a Faiths & Avatars style write-up for Zilchus? What kind of extraplanar servitors would he have? I'm anticipating a situation where a cleric of Zilchus might burn a candle of invocation to gate in aid, and I'm not sure what might answer the summons.

Mercane/arcane - the giant, blue-skinned extraplanar merchants originally from the Spelljammer campaign - would make perfect servants for Zilchus, I think.
Zilchus lives in the Outlands, so he might also conceivably have some sort of alliance with the rilmani.
And there's no reason you couldn't introduce neutral-aligned devas and agathinons, either.

The idea of celestial accountants and auditors is amusing. You could use the "inevitables" from 3rd edition; the kolyarut mandate to enforce contracts would prove useful for Zilchus.

Anything Lawful Neutral, such as those firey dwarves or Modrons.

Yeah, I don't think Primus would be cool with modrons serving Zilchus, and the azer are from the Elemental Plane of Fire, I think. The arcane/mercane sound like the best bet so far, though I'm not really in love with them.

Yeah, I think Modrons would be perfect.

Zilchus is a deal maker so he is an intermediate. He probably has servants on every plane. Never know when you'll need to broker a deal and with whom. So I would not limit him to one specific race though the Merchant arcane are probably his biggest followers.

In my games I combine Human and Demi Human gods.
So Zilchus is known as Abbathor to the Dwarves. A Lawful Evil god of Power, domination, tyranny, with a cult of corrupt and many devils/baatezu at his command.
Yes he still has LN and NE followers, and his minions prefer subtly and corruption, but if that fails they may get military aid to wipe out a trade rival. Abit like the Trade Federation in Star Wars :P

The Oeridian gods in general map very neatly on to the dwarven pantheon.
Moradin = Bleredd, the smith-god, husband of Ulaa.
Berronar Truesilver = Ulaa
Clangeddin Silverbeard, god of battle = Heironeous
Laduguer, god of duergar = Hextor
Dugmaren Brightmantle, god of scholars = Delleb
Dumathoin, Keeper of Secrets = Celestian (this interpretation is weird, I admit, but if you see Dumathoin as the guide of the dead across the deep tunnels that lead to the Outer Planes, it kind of works - the dwarves look down, not up)
Muamman Duathal, god of wanderers = Fharlanghn
Vergadain, god of merchants = Zilchus
Abbathor, god of greed = Kurell

Awesome mapping rasgon. I can see it! I played a follower of Muamman Duathal in our latest campaign and that was precisely it.

Although modrons are the predominant being of Nirvana (LN plane), there's no reason why you couldn't have LN spirit warriors, Einheriar, either. In perusing the Monstrous Compendium of the Outer Planes appendix, they are listed as variable alignment depending upon the plane from whence they occur. Therefore, you can have your cleric Gate in 'angels' serving Zilchus in a variety of roles (including defense).

We're glad you guys are having fun here, but please remember to check the date of the last post to an "older" thread and respond to it accordingly. This wasn't something being discussed "yesterday."
Now, back to having fun! _________________ Mystic's web page: http://melkot.com/mysticscholar/index.html
