    Expanded Monster Summoning Tables

    Hello All,

I am wondering if anybody knows of, or has created, an expanded 2e Monster Summoning Table (all Wizard spell levels), that you are willing to share. If you have found one in a Dragon Magazine, please let me know the issue/volume number, and date (or kindly provide the table itself if you can). If you have created one, please share, if you will. The current list offered is quite limited given the myriad types of creatures available now that we have a Monster Manual, Fiend Folio, and Monster Manual from which we can use.

    thank you

I have not done this, specifically, because I like my players to have the freedom to develop their spell-casting PCs as they see fit, including choosing their own familiar (within what I, as the DM, consider reason).

However, I do always update wandering monster tables in old modules to include newer and wider ranges of monsters than originally included. So, I approve of your efforts in that regard.

You might check the 3.5e tables for inspiration.

There's at least a 1e version of this in Bree-Yark;s Monster Summoning tables download on Dragonsfoot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/peqgxprbawyssa9/Monster%20Summoning.pdf?dl=0

You might also check the Encyclopedia Magica books, perhaps??: http://www.tsrarchive.com/add/add-em.html
