Ive been watching Terry Jones Great Map Mystery show and it has immediately given me ideas for campaign resource ideas and adventures.
The show covers the work of John Ogilby who created the first British road atlas in the 17th century and it is filled with light-hearted coverage of roads, tracks and paths. Ogilby appears to have been a bit of a charlatan and Terry Jones goes into detail on the inconsistencies. These details are great stuff and the medieval, renaissance and early enlightenment information I find very inspirational for fleshing out my Greyhawk campaign.
Ive been thinking of adventure links where the PCs are hired to survey and explore their way across the Flanaess and it feels like a fun and rich source for adventure.
Jones is humorous, the information is light and accessible, the soundtrack is awful, and I highly recommend the series (free with ads on prime right now).
