    Unholy Symbol of Incabulos

    Hello Esteemed Adventurers,

I am running another campaign and my poor PC's have stumbled on a most diabolical plan of the adepts of the evil god Incabulos. They are currently running for their dear lives from a rather nasty demon to enter the lost temple of Incabulos (never mind, it's a long story). Anyway, as I am planning to make some scenery for the temple, can anyone explain to me what the symbol of Incabulos is? I am looking at the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer and the description is rather...kryptic. Sad Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated! Smile

I always called it the Eye of Pestilence - kind of a Flanaessi Evil Eye - from which only bad things issue. In Turkey they put little eye symbols on the doorsteps to ward off the evil eye, while in parts of India (Pondicherry esp.) they chalk intricate symbols onto the pavement outside the houses every morning to do the same.

It's likely that there's similar customs in the Flanaess to ward off the Pestilent Eye

Given that Incabulos is also the sender of nightmares, there might be equivalents of dreamcatchers as well - perhaps among the Flan originally, but now more widely.

Here's another pic, which is more Rune-like:
