    The Javan River-navigable?

    Hello All,

It is with a heavy heart that I admit to great ignorance Wink The Greyhawk Gazetteer says that the Javan is navigable only to Cryllor (pg.152), but the LG site says that Longspear has a navy that patrols the river and the border that Longspear has with the river and that goods from Cryllor come southward, via the Javan to Longspear. Okay, maybe I'm making it way too difficult, but is that to mean that the Javan is navigable from its beginnings in the north near the Barrier Peaks south-ward to Cryllor/Longspear or that you can travel up from the Azure Sea northward to only Cryllor. I'm getting mixed results here. It seems that the two sources contradict each other. Sad

    Thanks,
    Dwarf from Nyrond

The "navigable to Cryllor" entry means that is how far north ocean-going vessels (deep draft cogs and the like) can go. Further north than that, only shallow draft commercial barges and rafts can manage. Those can make it at least as far as Istivin and Hohcoch easily, and even further with small rafts and rowboats and canoes and such.
