Hey Rossik, it is not set in Greyhawk. Looking at the map the total area doesn't seem to take up much more than one hex on the Greyhawk map and since its a valley I'd say you can put it just about anywhere there are mountains. Given what I can remember of the history in the module the Lortmils might be a good place near where Celene, the County of Ulek and Principality of Ulek's borders intersect.

Thunder Rift was written as a generic setting which can be placed anywhere, even though its creator, Colin McComb had Mystara in mind when he wrote it. The last module in the series, Escape from Thunder Rift links TR clearly to Mystara, but travel between the settings is done through portals, so it can still exist on another world. It should be fairly easy to place within any mountain range on Greyhawk I would assume. I'm a n00b when it comes to GH though so hoping to learn more :)

Silver mines are found in Sterich, Stonehold, Tiger Nomads, County of Ulek, Duchy of Ulek, Nyrond, Rift Canyon, Bone March, Frost Barbarians, Geoff, Iuz, Ket, Onnwal, Ahlissa, Aerdy, Ratik, Tusmit, Ull, Veluna, the Iron Hills, the Principality of Ulek, the Pomarj, the Yeomanry, the domain of Greyhawk, Duchy of Urnst, and Celene.

The Lortmils would be a good place. I think that's where Samwise put it in his Thunder Rift campaign.

There's a Thunder Rift forum here.

The Vaults of Pandius is a great resource. Anyway, we all need to start asking questions at one point. The reason why I signed up here is to ask those basic questions about Greyhawk :)
