Now that's awesome! I hope that they really produce something good. Can't wait to see/read more about it. _________________ Mystic's web page: http://melkot.com/mysticscholar/index.html

Yes, promising. I doubt they are willing to put a Peter Jackson-expense into the project, but it will, hopefully, be much better than the previous attempts. Poor Jeremy Irons. I sure appreciate his willingness to try to promote our hobby.

It troubles me that the same producers will be on board that produced the horrible Jeremy Irons ham-fest. But the script being based on Chainmail? I must know more!!!
Having watched all the D&D movies...and there are 3 or 4? (all but one SciFi Channel products), I'm thinking that they couldn't do any worse, so I'm optimistic.
Speaking of optimism...am I alone in sensing a renewal of interest in my beloved D&D? Is it just nostalgia by old folks like me? Or is the Videodrome generation discovering the game now? (I'm out of the loop here, so I'd love to hear your thoughts on the subject - you folks that actually get to game F2F)

...is the first I've ever seen of the occasionally mentioned D&D film. Oh well.

-Maybe they learned from their mistakes.
Oh, I do say the silliest things....

-If it's based on the old Chainmail, it would have to be a war movie with a "wide point of view" i.e. something like a fantasy Gettysburg or A Bridge Too Far.

Not once, but twice . . . let us not forget Eregon.
Hat's off to Jeremy. Too bad the Producers failed him!
Thanks for sharing that link. I don't agree with all it's points, still . . . _________________ Mystic's web page: http://melkot.com/mysticscholar/index.html

I'd almost forgotten how bad it was.
Honestly, though, I was more impressed with Eregon. I didn't read the books, but my kids really liked the movie and I thought it was, at least, worth seeing.

Chainmail - in it's original little silvery book version was one of myb favorite games wayyyy back when. I can't even tell you how many battles were waged between Minifigs Elves, Minifigs (snout-nosed) Orcs and Ral Partha medieval levies. Nothing but good memories!
I hope that somehow they can impart some of the wide-eyed air of possibility that I felt playing Chainmail and D&D back then.
Although I've let literally hundreds of D&D sourcebooks slip through my hands since 1978, I still have one of those Minifigs Elves. Terrible mini - great memories! _________________ <div> Is THIS your card? How about THIS one? No?</div>
