    Greyhawk City

Just two questions as I am re-reading the Greyhawk Folio cover to cover.
Maybe it's a silly question but Gygax mentions that the original warlord that built a keep close to the trading post that becomes Greyhawk built this keep far before Zagyg's Castle Greyhawk. Is this keep supposed to be the actual keep of Greyhawk?
Also a release called City of Greyhawk is mentioned here. I guess it has nothing to do with the Sargent's boxed set (which was released years later), do you know what happened to this project? Has it something to do with Yggsburg and castle Zagyg?

I think this refers to the Citadel, which was part of Gygax's version of Greyhawk. It's mentioned in Saga of Old City, page 37.

There was a planned City of Greyhawk supplement that Gygax never found time to write. It wouldn't have been the same as the later one by Sargent and Niles.

Yggsburgh was a new town created for the Castle Zagyg project. It's not intended to be the City of Greyhawk. Castle Zagyg, however, is Castle Greyhawk, or at least a version of it cleaned up for publication.

The warlord in question was Maret Nial who established his rule over the Landgraviate of Selintan in 4 CY. According to The Adventure Begins, page 57, Nial "set about with his men building a motte-and-bailey keep in exactly the spot where the Grand Citadel stands today. (Nothing of this keep now remains.)"

Courtesy of my searchable timeline (still under development).

Joseph Bloch took Gygax's CoG sketch from City of Hawks, turned it into a full map, and keyed it to TSR's City of Greyhawk boxed set. It's about as close as we can get to the real thing.
