I was reading LGG and found these magical roads in the Alhissa entry....
Could anyone explain me what they are and how they operate? _________________ The best orc is the dead one.....and beheaded for security
The properties of the Dirawaens have never offically been described.
My guess is that they are phenominally well made roads (as per Roman roads) that are magically resistant to weather effects (so no marshy quagmire come the winter rains). They may also have magics that reduce fatigue effects on travellers, so that they can travel faster, further for longer. Perhaps also stuff like no horse ever throws a shoe, or become lame; no cart ever loses or breaks a wheel.
I'd keep it low key stuff like this, rather than any flash bang wizardry.
Thank u Woesinger, I wasn't expecting any flash bang effect, ur interpretation seem the most logical...
thank u again _________________ The best orc is the dead one.....and beheaded for security
The best source that describes the roads is Ivid the Undying by Carl Sargent. That product is only available as a download (see the review on this site for details about it).
Some neat little details includes the descriptions of the series of way stations along the way, how the growth of the roads tied into the development of Aerdy culture, and of course how the trade routes were effected.
