    Which Deity Fits?

The various greyhawk pantheons have some peculiar redundancies (how many rogue gods DO you need, anyway?) and omissions. Which god would you suggest for a mystery-solving investigator to worship? For the life of me, nothing really seems like a perfect fit.

Not sure if race matters to you or not (let me know if it does), but for human Powers:

If it pertains to magical or arcane sorts of things, Boccob and Wee Jas are fine.

If it deals with the cosmos or the Planes, you could pick Celestian.

For knowledge overall, I'd choose Delleb, or perhaps Rao. Lendor could work, if it also involves time, patience, and commitment to study.

St Cuthbert is the Power of zeal, wisdom, dedication, and truth, but not necessarily from a scholastic perspective.

Let me know if you need the same for a specific race.

Delleb for erudite Sherlock Holmes types, Saint Cuthbert for cops, Pholtus for inquisitors, Wee Jas for darker arcane investigators, Boccob for the neutral pursuit of knowledge for its own sake, Allitur for traditional Flan, Trithereon for chaotic good vigilantes.

I think Mortellan once drew a cartoon with Trithereon as Shaggy and his hound Nemoud as Scooby Doo.

Put me down for Rao too, and by extension Allitur (Lesser God of Ethics and Propriety, "The Law-giver"). Delleb works too. Last, there is little doubt that the Robert Downery Jr. Sherlock Holmes is an adherent of Zuoken. Wink

    Sardior, Dragon God of Secrets

Dallah Thaun, Halfling Lady of Mysteries
