Okay, time for a question that's been nagging at me for a long time but that I only remembered to ask now. Anyone who worked on the LG Naerie campaign would be especially welcome.
In reading the regional Gazetteer's history of Naerie, I see that the House of Zelrad founds the Kingdom of Zelrad and renames the city of Naerie as Idee. The rival Kingdoms of Idee and Okalasna sprig up to contest its claim, and later Zelrad is conquered by the Great Kingdom of Aerdy.
So what the heck happened to the rival Kingdoms of Idee and Okalasna? When did the territory that we know as modern Idee start calling itself that? Why did it take the name of a failed kingdom? When it did start seeing itself as an actual nation, or at least a fiefdom within Aerdy?
The gazetteer seems pretty confusing on this, and if anyone could clear it up I'd appreciate it.

Naerie City was originally called Langshallow by the Zelrad in -323 CY. In -253 CY, Saint Idee cast herself into the sea in the hope that Osprem would hear her prayers and calm a storm that threatened the noble families, and the grateful nobles renamed Langshallow after the martyred saint, probably that year or shortly thereafter. Nobody called it Naerie until -76 CY, when Naerid of Cranden renamed it after himself.
In -197, the lands now known as Idee/Naerie rose in rebellion against Fasstal Landrav, a Zelrad prince who married Queen Ehlyra of Ehlissa. That's when the lands broke into three rival kingdoms: Okalasna, Zelrad, and Idee.
On Anna's map, Naerie City is part of the Barony of Derevendt, so I assume they're saying that the whole region now called the Barony of Derevendt was once the Kingdom of Idee, with Idee City as its capital.
The Suel Kingdom of Zelrad was, according to the Naerie Gazetteer, located in the modern day baronies of Ingmalt, Menst and Schwente. Again consulting Anna's map, those were all northwest of the Kingdom of Idee.
The Kingdom of Okalasna was in the modern Barony of Foelt, to the northwest of the Kingdom of Zelrad.
The kingdoms of Okalasna and Idee were defeated by Zelrad in -190 CY, and from that point the whole area was known as the Kingdom of Zelrad.
The Aerdi captured Idee City in -76 CY and renamed the town Naerie.
The region was part of South Province until 447 CY, when Irongate, Onnwal, Idee, Sunndi, and the Lordship of the Isles all declared independence, founding the Iron League. I imagine it started calling itself Idee then.
Remember that Idee wasn't just the name of a failed kingdom, it was a pre-Aerdi name for Naerie City and the name of a beloved local saint the local Oeridians had also adopted. Zelrad had a lot of baggage and had already lent its name to the capital of South Province, so it wasn't a viable choice.
-323 CY: Port of Langshallow founded by the Suel house of Zelrad.
-253 CY: Saint Idee of the Sails is martyred; Langshallow is renamed in her honor.
-197 CY: Rebellion against Fasstal Landrav; rival kingdoms of Okalasna, Zelrad, and Idee are founded.
-190 CY: Kingdom of Zelrad conquers kingdoms of Okalasna and Idee.
-76 CY: Aerdi captures port of Idee, renaming it Naerie.
447 CY: County of Idee declares independence.
Another possibility maybe more likely, is that the Great Kingdom renamed the Kingdom of Zelrad as "the County of Idee" immediately after conquering it and deposing the Zelrad dynasty.
