AL: any evil, RA: red with yellow and orange flame-shaped swatches, SY: the face of a yagnoloth, AR: any, Wpn: blowgun, broadsword*, dagger, dart, flail, garrote, mace, scourge*, whip*; SPH: all, charm(m), combat, divination(m), guardian, elemental(fire), healing(r), necromantic(r), protection(m), summoning, sun(m, r), weather, Spl: none, Add: Chariot of Sustarre, detect lie, faerie fire, obscurement, tongues.

Priests of Pyremius are some of the most vile, despicable, and dangerous villains in existence. They glorify the tenets of their religion: fire, poison, murder. At 1st level, Priests of Pyremius gain the bonus non-weapon proficiencies of fire building and herbalism (to make poisons). Priests of Pyremius may use the two-weapon fighting style and may even specialize in it. Priests of Pyremius can command undead. Demi-human and humanoid worshippers of Pyremius may multi-class as thieves, assassins, and fighters. As they advance in level, Priests of Pyremius also gain the following abilities and hindrances:

Level...Fire Save Bonus...Cold Save Bonus...Granted Power
1-4:...................+1..................................-1.....................~
5-8:...................+1..................................-1.....................~
9-10:....................~...................................~...............Pyrotechnics 1/day
11-13:..............+1...................................-1................Fire Shield(heat version) 1/day
14+:..................+1..................................-1................Fireball(1d6/level, no limit) 1/day

All saving throw bonuses and penalties are cumulative. Also, at 11th level, a priest of Pyremius suffers +1 damage per die (up to the maximum amount for that die type) from cold attacks. At 14th level, one point of damage lost from a cold spell is permanent until regained by use of a restoration or wish spell.

Pyremius is worshipped by humans and some humanoids, namely the jermalaine, firenewts and grimlocks. Pyremius has a strong following among the Scarlet Brotherhood and occasionally personally aids them in their plans. Hidden temples to Pyremius can be found in many large cities throughout the Flanaess. He has some worshipers among the northern barbarians as well as those in Hepmonoland and the Amedio Jungle, though these are few.
