Maw of the Beholder - new magic rings for Greyhawk

In-between my GaryCon convention reports (the last of which I should complete this week), I created a new Greyhawk magic item, inspired by John Popson’s GaryCon XVI commemorative ring: https://grodog.blogspot.com/2024/04/maw-of-beholder-new-magical-ring-for-greyhawk.html

I called the ring “The Maw of the Beholder” and designed some World of Greyhawk history for it, as well as magical powers for this family of related rings.

    Enjoy! =)

    Allan.

Very nice, Grodog! These items are not to be trifled with. Smile

Yes, I loved this, especially how you braided Greyhawk lore, including GVDammerung's "Roll of the Viceroys of Ferrond and the Kings of Furyondy" from his article, Furyondy Reforged - A Brief History & Chronology.

Have you done more with Oshonj-Opp'n, Zilepfe Saerrical, or the Company of the Thirsting Peryton?

I do try to leverage and promote other fans’ works, when I can. I was surprised that there was so little content available for that historical era, but I should have remembered that to be the case since that’s one of the reasons I had set our 175 CY game in that timeframe—freedom from others’ imaginings….

No, the first two are homage anagrams, while the third I pulled out of the air (although my sense is that they were an evil adventurer party, and could just as easily have succumbed to internal squabbles as external threats).

    Allan.
