Used with permission. Do not repost without obtaining prior permission. Arinanin was a Suel noble (-5026 cy) who was freed by Tilorop (a Suel noble), from prison, to aid him in the Second Regent War. In the campaign in the War, Arinanin was destroyed but Tilorop used arcane energy to transform him into the first lich on Oerth.

(-5003 cy) Tilorop and Arinanin mount an attack in the Third Regent War and overthrow the Regency Council. Tilorop is appointed Priest Regent and Arinanin, as a lich, proclaims himself Chief Regent of the Se-Ul. The Time of Darkness begins.

(-4616) The chief houses of the Se-Ul rise up in unison and overthrow the Priest Regent and drive Arinanin into the north. This is the last recorded history of the first lich of Oerth.

    Two notes:

I would have appreciated a little more background information - stats I can think up myself, but a better idea of the lich's goals, whether he might be still around today, and his previous life would have been very useful.

Secondly, and this is a legal note, Canonfire! is going to need a copy of the Open Gaming License on site, because you can't post d20 stat blocks without also including the OGL. Either you need to "click-thru" the OGL to get to the article, or a link from the article to the OGL must be arranged. (A statement: "This is Open Gaming Content, covered by the OGL v1.0a accessible _here_" would be needed; more details defining Product Identity and Open Gaming Content as well).

Pursuant to discussion on the GreyTalk list, I withdraw my objection to the non-OGL covered stats - we don't have another option at the moment! :)

I'd like to see more articles of this type, though admittedly with more lengthy backgrounds.
